LIU Conghong, School of Architecture, Tianjin University, Tianjin, China

Prof. Dr. LIU Conghong was born in August 1968, graduated from School of Architecture, Tianjin University with a Bachelor’s degree in 1990, a Master’s degree in 1995, a Doctoral degree of Architecture Design and Theory in 1998.  She is now a full time professor (2005) and doctoral supervisor (2006) in Tianjin University.  She has been a visiting scholar in Leuven University, Belgium (1999 and 2001) and Welsh School of Architecture, UK (2005 and 2008). She is now a committee member of China Green Building Council and Tianjin City Historic Building Preservation Advisory Council.


Her research focuses on the theory and method of sustainable building design, green building assessment and green technologies in the preservation and renovation of historic buildings.  In recent years, she and her team members are working on several national important research projects, which include China-EU International Science & Technology Cooperation Program and National Key R&D Program of China.  Part of the research work is with Welsh School of Architecture, Cardiff University UK, and German Partners.  Supported by the research projects, papers and conference presentations are published, new buildings and renovated buildings in green ideas and technologies are fulfilled.
