Giuseppe Rossi was born in San Miniato (Pisa) in November 1946. He is married, has two daughters and one son and lives in Milan.

He has a university degree in Chemical Engineering (1971) at the University of Pisa.

He developed most of his professional career in the Montedison Group, holding several positions, initially in the technical area and then in the management. Among Mr. Rossi’s most important positions were: Corporate Director of central planning for chemistry in Montedison (1989-1994); President of  Moplefan S.p.A. (1990-2001); CEO of Novamont (1992-1995); Board member in several subsidiaries of the Montedison Group.

He lived for five years in the Netherlands (1995-2000) working for the Montell company, JV between Shell and Montedison, subsequently named Basell, JV between Shell and BASF, where he was Director of Corporate Strategic Planning.

From 1999 to 2008 Mr. Rossi was President of Basell Polyolefins Italy, today part of the LyondellBasell Group.

He was from 2002 to 2009 member of the Board and member of the Executive Committee of Federchimica (the Italian association of the chemical companies) and, from 2006 to 2009, he was President of PlasticsEurope Italy, the Italian association of Plastics Manufacturers.

From 2010 to 2013 he was President of Corepla, the National Consortium for the collection, recovery and recycling of plastic packaging waste, and Board member of CONAI, the National Packaging Consortium, from 2011 to 2014.

Since May 2015, Mr. Rossi has been President of Accredia, the Italian National Accreditation Body.
